Embark on a transformational journey as a Prayer Chaplain at Unity on the Bay. Our Prayerful Living Program invites those called to deepen their prayer life, serve others, and experience the mystical power of affirmative prayer.

“Raising the Veil: A Mystical Approach to Affirmative Prayer” is this year’s theme, guided by Rev. Juan, Rev. Dr. Noelle Nielsen, and guest teacher Rev. DeeAnn Weir-Morency, co-author of Discover Your Divinity. Discover your luminous inner being, awaken to divine presence, and support others in doing the same. This is soul work. Schedule & Committment

Before enrolling, please review the schedule and commitments below. Serving as a Prayer Chaplain is a sacred opportunity to support our community with love and presence. To honor this role, we ask that you commit whole-heartedly.

The enrollment cost is $270 for new Prayer Chaplains and $245 for returning Prayer Chaplains. This includes all meals, the “Rooted in Prayer” class, training weekend, and retreat.

    Affirmative prayer is the heartbeat of Unity and the soul of our spiritual community. It uplifts us in life’s storms and deepens our joy in times of blessing, grounding us in strength, peace, and gratitude. In this 4-week class, you’ll deepen your personal prayer practice, explore Unity’s foundations of affirmative prayer, and gain tools to support and sustain your spiritual journey.

    Grounded in the truth of our divine nature and the oneness of all life, this training opens the path to spiritual wholeness, empowerment, and compassionate service. Whether you’re new to prayer or a seasoned practitioner, you’ll deepen your understanding of oneness, claim your spiritual authority, and awaken to the healing presence within.

    Step away from the noise of daily life and immerse yourself in the sacred stillness of our Prayer Chaplaincy Retreat—a soul-nourishing weekend woven into the heart of Unity on the Bay. Held in the spirit of sacred listening and mystical communion, this retreat is a sacred pause where you will deepen your connection with Spirit, awaken your divine light, and be anointed into compassionate service.

    We begin with a community potluck—a relaxed, heart-opening gathering. Bring a dish to share as we set the tone for a mystical weekend together.

    The retreat continues at our beautiful new building, where food will be lovingly provided. Through reflection, connection, and sacred practices, you’ll embody the healing presence of God within yourself and others. Come, raise the mystical veil, be transformed, and return ready to serve as a luminous channel of peace and love.

  • To serve our community as a Prayer Chaplain, you are committing to:

    • Becoming a Member (if you aren’t already) which requires a New Member Orientation.

    • Attend monthly Prayer Chaplain Meetings (first Wednesday of each month)

    • Volunteer at least 2 times each month

    • Make “Prayer Calls” to our community (at least 10 a month)

    • Adhere to a Confidentiality Agreement

  • No worries. Our spiritual community is vast, with people connecting from around the world. Some components of the program are available hybrid.

    As for retreat and training sessions, those are in-Person only.

    As for serving the community while away, we will offer hybrid and we will find a way for you to serve our community from wherever you live.

  • We prefer that Prayer Chaplains volunteer for at least 1 year. After that year you can recommit during the next training session.

  • No, we don’t offer training online.
